The Photo Challenge
This is Week Four of the 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge, and it’s theme is ‘Winter‘.
‘Winter’ conjures up scenes of snow and starkness. But we get little snow here, on the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Even this week, plants are sprouting outside.
So I bribed my dog, Zack, to pose in my indoor winter photo shoot. I love that the end of his muzzle looks a little bit frosty!
A Lesson on Creating a Home Studio
I had fun creating a ‘winter’ scene, studio-style: attaching cut-out snow flakes on a white sheet hanging from a PVC pipe frame. I learned a few things for future improvements:
- I want to study lighting tricks of the trade
- 5 feet is not a wide enough backdrop for my dogs
- A squeaky toy would have worked better than an empty treat bag to keep my model’s attention
I’m looking forward to creating more photo shoots!
Zoe tried sneaking in on the action…
Zack took moves to not be upstaged…
